Tony Bennett Duets - An American Classic

As I’m writing for my blog today, I’m listening to Tony Bennett’s Duets - An American Classic. Honestly this is my first ever Tony Bennett CD. I was expecting something quite dry and I’m pleased to say that this CD is quite nice. All 19 tracks on the CD are duets with other singers such as Elton John and the Dixie Chicks.

One of my favorite songs are his duet with Diana Krall with an arrangement of “The Best Is Yet to Come”. This song has a big band arrangement, which I always love. The song starts out a bit mellow and then the band kicks in to make you feel like dancing.

Another favorite is “For Once In My Life” with Stevie Wonder. I always love Stevie Wonder, and he managed to add a lot of soul into a jazz standard song. When Stevie played the harmonica solo… wow…

If you want to get the CD, you can order it from Amazon.
