I’ve been thinking really hard about my blog, and where it’s going. I guess every blogger comes to a stage where they have to stop and make a critical review on their blog. I thought about this subject (mostly as I was driving to work) and I realize that I have to push my blog to the next level.
I’m tired of being that puny hero that can lose to a Level 1 kobold. It’s time to level up!
Here’s my action plan:
1) Put sponsored posts on hold. So far I have earned almost USD 300 on sponsored posts alone. That’s USD 50 shy of my dream Nintendo Wii. This blog will not accept any offers for sponsored posts for the next few months. By the way if you want, you can sign up to earn money blogging.
2) Less focus on making money (SEO ratings, PR rankings and such). Instead, I will focus on getting more readers. This means less sponsored posts and writing better posts.
3) Write more about my job. I’m always fascinated when I read stories of Pablo the Lawyer, and Yenjai and Eve [removed: inactive] the doctors. I guess people would be interested with Adino the Systems Analyst right? (Readers: Hah?! What’s that?). I mean Adino the IT Guy (Readers: ohhh…). I guess there has to be some balance. I don’t want to write too much about work until it affects my career.
4) Post more often. I will try to increase my posting frequency from three times a week to once a day.
5) Re-do my other blog. My KL Driver [removed: inactive] blog seems to have so much potential, but I need to pay more attention to re-doing the design and writing more quality posts.
I would also like to request readers to comment more often. Even a two-word comment (with a cute smiley at the end) would encourage me. Fellow bloggers will know what I mean.
Some additional notes:
My web host Exabytes has scheduled a planned maintenance this weekend to upgrade their power supply. This website may be inaccessible from Saturday morning up to Sunday midnight.
I seem to be having some problem with my comments box resizing off the screen. You will notice this if you are viewing my blog using IE6. I haven’t been able to find the cause of the problem yet. The temporary solution is to view my site using Firefox or IE7 until I fix it. Otherwise you can still comment, but your sentence will go off the screen.
