I just read about this, and I thought I needed to share this with you.
There have been many reports around the world of children getting their shoes caught in escalators.
As a result, terrible injuries such as toenails torn off, missing toes and even mangled feet are inflicted on the children.
One common theme of these injuries is the children were all wearing Crocs, a soft rubbery type of sandals.
This is confirmed as fact by Snopes, the authority in urban legends.
You can click on the article “Danger Afoot” to read details of how it happens and some excellent tips on preventing this injury.
The risk is not limited to the Crocs brand alone. It can happen with any soft soled shoes or sandals that can get stuck in escalator steps. It can also happen if your shoelaces are caught, or part of your dress is caught.
This is not an anti-Crocs article! I’m just saying that there is a proven risk. Any similar brand of shoes and sandals have the same potential risk. And risk can be minimized if we manage them properly.
Always watch your children at escalators. We all know that if anything happens, the police and our government ministers will put the blame on us parents. Who knows, you may be even charged for child neglect!
Please feel free to inform your blog readers and friends about this danger (seeing that Crocs are getting popular in our country).

Gosh, and I was hoping this was an anti-Crocs post, since I absolutely hate Crocs with a vengeance :p Well, okay, the wee kids look kinda cute in ‘em, but adults?? NO!!
Adino: Yeah kids look absolutely adorable in Crocs
For adults… depends on what they wear la… and the colour of the Crocs they choose.

That’s one of the reason I ban my kid from wearing Crocs at all
(price aside)
Adino: For me, price is the main reason… RM200 plus a pair!
