Be Careful of AdBux

Posted June 7th 2007 @ 8:28 am by Adino

I recently came across a pay-to-click program called AdBux. What you need to do is to click on a link and you will earn 1 cent per click. This was great for me because in a few days I would have made a dollar which is a lot considering my failures with AdSense.

The way you really make money is to get others to join. You get people to click on a referral link and sign up. Each time someone you refer clicks on a link, you earn 1 cent too.

I have been using it for a few months now, and I was very careful, making sure my antivirus and firewall was working before clicking on the links. So far the links don’t lead to anything harmful.

However two things set off the alarm bells in my head (regular readers will know that it sounds like the alarm on the deck of the Starship Enterprise).

First of all is the option to upgrade to a premium account. Basically this means paying a certain fee ($29/year or $99 for life) to get a better rate of 1.5 cents per click.

Second is the option to purchase referrals, which means paying to get those members who have signed up without a referrer sponsored under you. This means you get to earn their revenue. The site claims that someone has earned thousands of dollars by reinvesting his earnings to purchase referrals.

What I did was to Google AdBux and there were opinions on both sides supporting and going against AdBux’s claims of legitimacy.

There’s a Proof of Payments page at the AdBux website for your perusal.

So what do you think? Is it a scam?

If you want to try it out please use my referral link, but I warn you against investing any money in this site until it proves itself.

Again I want to warn you to be careful about AdBux. You can try it out at your own risk but don’t be greedy!

Update: After a few months using AdBux, I haven’t reached the minimum payout amount. I’m not even half way there. That’s how slow it can be earning money from this if you’ve not upgraded or purchased referrals.

I have been paid twice for a total of usd 15. About upgrade to premium account and buying referral, I don’t dare to try and not worth it. I still can earn without the upgrade. I have over 15 referrals. Buying referrals is no point for me.

I wrote about Adbux and here is my proof of payment

I’d never give money away to anything like this. If you can use it for free it’s okay but it will take a long time to earn enough to get a cheque

Nicholas: Theres always other ways of earning money online.

Steve: Thanks for your feedback. I read your post and it’s great that you managed to earn so much with AdBux. I really hope that this is not a scam because it seems like a great way to make money.

Angie: Yeah, I won’t give any money away either.

Diyanazman: I’m not sure if it’s a scam or not. I’m hoping it’s not, but I am careful. I am not saying this is a scam, I am just asking my readers to be careful and not be greedy when using their service.

    Thanks everyone for your comments!

Well I have upgraded, bought referrals, and been paid. I have found it to be good to this point. Their new pay cycle is now good for any account that is over 10 dollars at the end of the month, you will be paid on the 15th of the following month. So just earn your 10 bucks and wait for the 15th of the following month to make your own decision.

As for PayPerPost…….yes I have made money with them, but I have also referred 4 people and 3 of those 4 have already received their first payments and I haven’t got the first email or 15 bucks for each referral that was promised. Since you are using your referral link from PPP, have you signed up any referrals there?

Adino: Thanks for sharing your experience Gene. It’s nice to know that it could be legit. However I do still have my doubts due to what I have read. Perhaps others could share their experiences as well so we can have more confidence.

    Hmmm,

I think I will join this, upgrade, surf, then maybe I will know, as noone on here seems to be saying YES or NO !!!

Just do it or not, is it really going to matter if you lose a few bucks … move it around - that’s how money works you know :)

    Steve.

Adino: I guess nobody knows for sure.

As someone has mentioned in a previous comment, the site is owned by someone called Chad French. Now, if you don’t know who this person is, do a little research.

A year or two ago, he ran a site called netbux, which was a paid to search site, which paid out a few times, then he disappeared with a load of money that belonged to other people.

Be very carefull of your dealings with this individual or his websites. He is a con man who will happily rob you blind.

Adino: In all fairness, I still see Adbux active and paying out to members.

Don’t use these shitty programs ok, it takes forever to get $1 and come on, you’re causing yourself harm in body and mind. It is much better to go out and get a cheap job, at least you earn some money at a decent rate. Adbux is just lame and cheap, wastes ur time u get no experience and ur wasting ur internet. Get a real job or even do someone a favour. I bet if i went out searching the roads and Earth, I could find a dollar in less time than it takes to earn a dollar in adbux.

NOooooo Wayyyyy is AdBux a scam!!!!!!!! It totally makes sense that you should pay for a premium account and premium referrals so that you can watch advertisements that someone else has paid for you to watch!

Lol…are you guys retarded or what?

The whole scam with these stupid sites is to get morons to buy these premium accounts.

    Seriously.
