Oh, joy. The PM has declared this Wednesday to be a holiday for KL and Putrajaya. I normally refrain from political commentary but I can’t ignore publishing my opinion on this.
Reading from the Star’s online article, it seems like PM is understanding and finally listening to the people.
Finally, our Hindu brothers and sisters who live in KL and Putrajaya do not have to apply annual leave to celebrate Thaipusam. Finally, the government shows love and care for their community!
But then, I came across this sentence (copied from the article without permission) “He [referring to Samy Vellu] added that MIC was confident the Indian voters would steadfastly remain with Barisan Nasional.”
Oh.
So that’s what this is all about.
Quick, MCA… go and push for 15 day Chinese New Year public holiday. I will surely vote for BN!
You would think that I would be happy to hear that I’m getting a day off work. But it saddens me to see how the present administration will do anything to get votes. I’m not sure of the financial impact of this day off, think of all the lost productivity!
I am also disappointed at anybody who thinks that declaring a one day holiday will erase all the things that have happened (or not happened) in the past four years.
Sigh, maybe I was wrong to write this post. Maybe I should stop relating every government decision to the elections. Maybe I am thinking too much.
Maybe, I should just shut my mouth. Maybe it is not in my place to say anything at all. Maybe it is none of my business.
Maybe I should just enjoy the holidays like everyone else, getting stuck in the traffic jam outside Mid Valley / One Utama. After all, if someone gives you something good, shouldn’t you take it?
In other news, dead man’s corpse snatched away in the middle of his funeral by Selangor Islamic Affairs department.

Seriously?
Our country has too many holidays.
No, not one or two days more.
Many many days!
The country productivity is down the drain
Adino: A lot of other things will go down the drain too

Amen Adino! The flames of righteousness… is burning in you. Be ye angry but sin not. Jesus was angry and acted against the corrupt businesses outside the temple.
There comes a time when we should act, speak and not be afraid… out of righteous indignation.
Adino: Thanks for the encouragement Josh.

My suggestion: enjoy the holidays.
Adino: Good suggestion

Nevermind lo.. as long as we have holidays
Adino: Oh well, to look on the bright side, a day off work is indeed very nice!

I fully support the Government’s plan to give us more days off work! Hurrah!
Adino: Holidays are nice
but I’m just wondering what the true purpose of declaring the holidays at this time.
