Some Day, Today

color of spring

Two and a half years ago, I wrote a song titled Some Day, for our future baby.

Take a moment to check it out if you haven’t seen it before. It’s not really a song yet, just some verses and a chorus.

At that time, we were expecting Poey Chin to be pregnant, and it turned out that she wasn’t. That song was dedicated to my future baby.

I just realized, that my “some day” has come true.

Isn’t it amazing how Rachel really has light brown hair, and fair chubby skin?

When I think about this song, then I start to appreciate my daughter so much more.

We do go for the occasional walks in the park, and she is scared of the dark.

She will pat her hand on her heart and say “pah pah” and tell me, “daddy, dark dark“. I will ask her, “Then how?”

Light light!” she exclaims delightedly.

Looking back at the song, I also realize that it seems to be written for a daughter.

Did I know somehow, did I picture you in my mind Rachel?

Mua mua girl, daddy loves you. Daddy will always love you first, even after Baby 2 comes.

  1. I have totally forgotten about this song u wrote for our baby, looking at her pics remind me how little she was and so cute n chubby 🙂 thanks for writing this post darling!

Adino: She was so “round” haha

  2. That’s a beautiful song you wrote for your baby! It’s an inspiration. Your Rachel is sooooo adorable. Really lovely to know you are spending good quality time with her. A father’s influence has tremendous impact upon his daughter. You are doing well. Keep it up. Children grow up very fast. I felt I had never had enough with my children. They just grow up too fast. But I’m really happy for spending a lot of time to teach, train and nurture them. It can be very exhausting both physically and mentally but every minute is worth it. You are an awesome father!

Adino: I don’t think I qualify to be an awesome father. I have my struggles!

  3. Baby girls are the sweetest things. I can never imagine not having one now that I’m the lucky mother of one 🙂

Adino: I can’t imagine life without her either

  4. ah ha, sugar & spice & all things nice!

those pics were taken with a DSLR, werent’t they?

Adino: Yeah, they were. It was much easier to take her photos when she wasn’t moving around so much.
