Ipoh Dinner

This post is a continuation of the post “Ipoh Dinner – The Day Before
On Saturday I woke up early because more of Poey Chin’s relatives were on their way from Penang. We stayed around until after lunch. My parents and relatives arrived in Ipoh in the afternoon, and I went over to the apartment they were staying at.

At around 5:30 I went with my sister to pick Poey Chin up from the hair dresser. We left at around 6:30 to go to the restaurant and there was a traffic jam because of road works near Jusco area and it was raining too.

We arrived at the restaurant around 7:00pm and almost everyone was already there. Poey Chin and I was a bit unsure about what to do. There was supposed to be a room for the bride to wait for her grand entrance but the restaurant provided us with a tiny stuffy room. So we decided to wait at the entrance to greet guests. Poey Chin got a bit stressed and started to cry because we were not being informed what was happening and what to do… her friends and I managed to calm her down.

Well in the end things didn’t seem to go very smoothly but it’s okay because we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, generous and served on time. We had a fake cake cutting ceremony, a champagne pouring session and a toast for our parents health, long life and for us to have lots of children. In the end all that matters is the people we love attended the wedding and gave their blessing for our marriage.

The dinner ended around 10:00pm, and a lot of people offered their congratulations, well wishes and requests for babies on their way out. We reached home at 11:00pm and proceeded to change and pack up. Thank you Keith boy for helping me pack! We then went out for supper with Eric, who brought us to Stadium Medan for delicious Chicken Slice Hor Fun, Fried Koay Teow, Satay and Ice Kacang.

I just want to thank everyone who helped out especially Poey Chin’s family, her friends and my family for giving their time, effort and finances. I feel so happy because it really feels that we are getting married. I can’t wait to be her husband. Now we have to prepare for the big one this Saturday.
