Baby Rachel was admitted to hospital yesterday afternoon for phototherapy (which is why I didn’t blog).
Her bilirubin (thanks Siew Lee!) count is 260. Doctor is worried that it could go higher, which is why he suggested phototherapy before it got serious.
With heavy hearts and wet eyes we brought baby to hospital.
We’re not allowed to stay […]

Respect
Thank you everyone for your congratulations and well wishes.
I apologize that I don’t have time to reply to each individual comment. I’ve spent the whole day at the hospital with my darlings.
Today I found out that parenthood is a very humbling experience.
I used to think that I knew a lot about lots of things.
Now I […]
Baby Rachel Is Born!
When doctor was checking Poey Chin, he told us that her water membrane had already burst!
However, he told us that baby has not descended into the pelvis yet. His theory was baby’s head was too big to go through my wife’s pelvis.
He recommended Caesarean section as the safest way to deliver baby.
Fifteen minutes later, Poey […]
I’m So Excited
Last night just before we went to bed, my darling Poey Chin told me that there was some pinkish discharge.
Those of you who have gone through this must know what that means.
It means the early stages of labour has begun. According to my reference materials, the “show” may precede labour by 24 to 48 hours.

The Waiting Game
I’ve got that feeling I get whenever I’m waiting for something exciting.
I remember that time when my father agreed to buy me a PlayStation. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I was dreaming about it every night. I read all I could about the PlayStation.
Then there was the time I was waiting to move in […]

My cousin has gone home to be with the Lord yesterday morning.
I did not see Mei often because her family lives in Penang. We saw each other once every few years.
My best memory of her was when she came with us on a church camp. I remember her being very cheerful all the time. She […]
Did You Do This?
Nothing much to write about today, except I found this photo of my nephew and niece jumping on my bed.
This was the day after our wedding. We arrived home from Sheraton Subang and they came over for the bed-jumping ceremony.
Ahh, looking at the photo reminds me of some good memories. It was the day before […]
Uncle Adino
It’s starting to sink in now. I’m getting older, and a new phase of my life is going to begin.
One year ago I was looking forward to getting married. Now I’m looking forward to something new. Something unknown.
Becoming a parent is probably the most significant thing that I will ever do. How do handle this […]
My Cousin Is Sick
I received some terrible news before Chinese New Year that my cousin Sook Mei has been diagnosed with advanced stage colon cancer.
Last night, while I was at the Children Workers Conference in Glad Tidings Petaling Jaya, I received an SMS from my uncle bringing further distressing news.
The doctors are unable to operate to remove the […]
