I’m Still Alive

Posted March 28th 2008 @ 8:28 am by Adino

Do you know that I have a blog post that is set to be published if I don’t update my blog for one week? It will inform you dear readers of mine that I have passed away, and I won’t be able to update the blog any more.

It is almost a week so I thought I’d better publish something.

No, I’m kidding. I don’t have such a post. But it would be a good idea, no?

Regular readers of my blog will notice that I have slowed my posting schedule from once a day, to once every two days, and now to once a week.

I have to apologize for the lack of updates. Work continues to be busy, and when I am home, there’s so many things to deal with that I don’t have time or energy to blog.

I have also signed up to help out in a mini freelance project for one of my old school mates. It’s a challenging task that is taking up quite a bit of my spare time. But I enjoy it because I’m learning a lot and getting a lot of experience, even though I am not charging anything.

Making things worse, I tore some ligaments in my foot. I put too much weight on it while sitting. I don’t really know how to explain, but it was really cold in the meeting room, and my toes went numb. And I put too much weight on my toes without realizing that I was doing damage to it. Sounds stupid huh?

I was on MC for the first two days of this week. Cannot even walk. It hurts even when the wind from the fan blew on my foot. Can’t sleep, can’t do anything with the constant pain. Thank God I’m married and got a wife to take care of me. I’m better now.

Last Sunday we had a very interesting dinner. It was a dinner at our church DUMC, a thanksgiving dinner / church dedication. They laid out tables all around the church compound, in the open.

Now, you know that it has been raining every evening for the past week right? On that day it started to rain all around us. We could see lightning flashes at the north, south, east and west.

A rainbow over Dream Centre before dinner started.

Pretty soon the sky became dark and peals of thunder came crashing down on us.

All those people passing by must be wondering why this crazy bunch of people were sitting out in the open having a scrumptious Foochow dinner (courtesy of Sitiawan Peking and Lido restaurants) when it was going to rain any time.

We could feel a slight drizzle (coming from the nearby rain) as we ate but there was no rain at the Dream Centre!

Anyway, I have got a lot of feedback that my site is always down. I am thinking of switching web hosts soon. In the mean time, one temporary solution is for you to subscribe to receive my posts via email.

Just subscribe here, and my latest post will automatically be sent to your inbox. No more frustration when you’re unable to access. And if you want to leave a comment but can’t, just send me your comment via email.

Another alternative is for you to subscribe using my RSS feed.

Really sien with ExaBytes.

Oh yeah, I saw a rainbow over the green long hill close to my home. Too bad I wasn’t able to take a picture then. Hey, sighting one ought to be a sight of good things to come.

Sorry to hear about your injury. Now both you and your lady have trouble getting up on your feet in the morning. Heh, might as well stay in bed… :P

Adino: I wish I could, but I have to go to work :)

    About your siteļ¼›
I don’t think it is always down
    But it appears that:
It always fail when try to go in
    Have to click “retry” (fail)
    Then “retry” (fail)
    Then “retry” (finally got in!)

It has become so routine that I know the sequence, LOL
Something to do with DNS ?
Maybe you should just supply us with the IP address, haha

Adino: Yeah, that’s what I get too. IP address is a good idea, let me try to find out the proper address and subfolder.

Just a note: the RSS feeds don’t give everything – so I still have to visit the site for full info.

It kinda reminds of my own blog – I don’t update it as often I usually do; busy + somewhat more reserved might be some reasons.

I hope the injury wasn’t too painful… Sorry to hear that.

Nice rainbow picture – usually I only see very faint rainbows (or faint at least in the photos).

Adino: Hmm.. in that case I may have to stop breaking my posts for now.

I think it is tendonitis. I had the same last time. Its not torn ligaments lah, its just over stretched tendon.

Adino: In either case, it hurt a lot!

Huh? How could you possibly hurt yourself while sitting down? Goes to show that sedentary lifestyle is not healthy too, eh?
What a glorious work of the Lord … to not have the rain pour down on where you guys were seated.

And by the way, I too am lagging in my blogging (hey it rhymes) – when you find that method to update your blog with that automatic post, let me know.

Adino: You just set the post to publish one week later, then keep changing the publish date when you update your blog.

I also don’t update frequently nowadays, too many due dates to meet… Getting well soon!

Adino: It seems like a low season for blogs. Wonder why?

Take care mate! And no need to apologize for the lack of updates. We all go through these cycles :D

    Adino: Thanks!

Wow… it seems very beautiful in your picture. I like rain sometimes.

Also, I’m sorry to hear that your foot is hurt. I hope it will heal soon!

Adino: Yeah, the rainbow was very nice.
