I would like to introduce a new series of posts called “I wonder…”.
(Not this wonder)
How this works is I will be wondering about something and then you, my dear reader will come up with an explanation for me. There is no right or wrong answer, but please keep it clean and also make sure it is at least 1% logical.
In the past few days I have been wondering about people:
- On TV, sometimes there are women who have gone through a traumatic loss (such as husband leaving for a younger woman, or a loved one being murdered). There’s this common scene where she stares into the mirror, applying her make up… looking sad. Suddenly just as she’s applying lipstick madness fills her eyes and she starts to draw lipstick all over her mouth, her face and on the mirror. This is followed by lots of hysteria and drama. I wonder why lipstick is associated with crazy people?
- Today I was in the supermarket and a lady dropped a coin in front of me. It was a one cent coin, and she just ignored the coin and walked on. I wanted to pick up the coin, but if I did that she could turn around and demand that I hand back her coin to her. I also read a story about how some people’s time is so valuable that they would never stop to pick up a hundred dollars on the sidewalk. I wonder how much money you would have to make for you to ignore a hundred dollars on the sidewalk.
