Have you ever wondered why I am called Adino?
You have chosen a good day to visit Adino Online, my dear readers. Today the mystery will be unveiled!
Adino is a Hebrew name. My father David chose one of king David’s generals to be my name. It can be found in 2 Samuel 23:8.
“These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains, he was called Adino the Eznite, because of eight hundred slain by him at one time;” – NASB
If you are looking in the NIV version of the Bible, Adino will be in the footnotes.
King David had a group of elite warriors called the Thirty, and the elite of the elites was called the Three. Adino was the leader and the tai kor of them all.
He killed 800 enemies in a single battle. Imagine that. Probably he sneezed and someone died. Well I believe that he did it with God’s strength.
This Adino is the complete opposite. I don’t think I fancy going into battle at all. Unless, you know, I am holding a lightsaber or something.
According to Wiki (Fuiyoh, I got a Wiki for my name!) Adino means “His adorned one”. I leave it to your imagination to what being adorned means.
Adino is a very unique name. So far I have met “the other” Adeno, who is also a DUMC member. If anyone knows another Adino, send them over to this blog. We can form an endangered species club and be protected by WWF or something. *Insert naughty endangered species mating joke here*
Okay, now let me give you a little activity.
My dad chose such a wonderful name for me. What name should I choose for my baby?
